Canada Study Visa

Canada Study Visa

Are you planning to move to Canada? Then having a Canada study visa is quite essential. The Government of Canada has been providing various opportunities for all the Indian students to pursue study in Canada. Still, as the prerequisite, you need to have a Temporary Resident Visa and the Study permit along with the Canada study visa.

Canada has been steadily attracting lots of Indian students. The Canada study visa is validated through a research permit, even though admission to the top Canadian universities continues to involve outstanding academic performance. You require a license to study before entering Canada if you want to pursue technical, professional, or any vocational training at the college, a University, or some other educational institute in Canada.

Once the students land in Canada, they are provided with a study permit. To meet the applicant, however, the temporary resident visa must be obtained first and supported by the Canadian High Commission and the Visa Application Centers.

What is the study permit in Canada?

This is a license or certificate that you can obtain in Canada that is issued by the Citizen and Immigration (CIC) that allows students to study within Canada. You must remain enrolled and advance fairly and promptly to complete your class if you hold a study permit.

You often require a temporary resident visa for your entry into Canada, together with your Canada study Visa. Keep in mind that a research authorization is indeed the document authorizing you to study in Canada, whereas a temporary resident visa is the Visa for your entry into Canada. We at Round World Immigration would assist you in finding the latest information about the Canada study visa.

Various Documents Necessary for the study permit in Canada

In order to apply for the study visa in Canada, you need to fulfill the below requirements:

  • The letter of acceptance from the educational institute
  • Your valid passport or any travel document

You should also:

  • You have to show that you have sufficient money to pay for your studies i.e., tuition fees.
  • It will have to live for yourself and any family members who come with you to Canada, and
  • To return transportation for you and any family members who come to Canada.

You would also need to appear at the embassy of Canada or consulate for the personal interview and need to be a legal citizen without any criminal record and not be a danger to Canada's safety (you may have to request a police certificate).

  • To show that you can provide financial support to you and your family members. You can also be asked to provide the following:
  • A Canadian bank account report on your behalf, if money has been moved to Canada
  • Documents for student/education loan from a financial institution
  • Bank statements
  • A bank draft in foreign currency
  • Proof of payment of tuition/hospitality fees
  • A letter from the person or institution that provides you funding

The Canada Study Visa Fees and other Requirements

  • Applicants from the Middle East, Africa, or Europe can also have to submit their biometrics such as fingerprints and photographs for the below additional Canadian students Visa requirements.
  • The applicants may request a medical examination and police review before the application is submitted. If you have any criminal record, then you cannot get the research license–the Police Clearance Certificate can be demanded as evidence.
  • You will need to show that you have a valid passport that allows you to return to your country of origin after your training is finished without being from the USA or St. Pierre and Miquelon. Two passport images, with your name and date of birth on the back, are also needed.
  • The requirements for Canadian student visas also include proof of funding funds. It's now consideredCA$10,000(~US$7,650) for every one of your years of study in Québec (CA$11,000/~US$8,400), plus tuition fees. Additionally, you have to ensure that you have ample money to pay for transport back home.

When you have money to pay Canada Study Visa Fees then you need to prove it by providing either of the following documents: the bank statements, the proof of the transfer of the money on behalf of a Canadian account, proof of payment of the tuition fees or accommodation fee, proof of the bank draft in convertible currency, letter from an organization that gives you the money, or the proof of the funding paid from Canada, where you have a scholarship or accommodation.

Eligibility through Student Direct Stream

In order to get the Canada Study visa eligibility through more easily, Canada has recently introduced the Student Direct Stream, which students from China, India, the Philippines, or Vietnam can apply for.

The requirements are identical to the standard license, but language requirements are more strict-you must have to score at least 6 in the IELTS or a score of 7 on a level of French Competence Linguistics, or a high school diploma from Canada. When you fail to meet the Student Direct Stream criteria but meet the standard study authorization requirements, the regular study permit alternative will be checked for your application, and the student will not be processed faster.

Next Step to take once you apply

Once your student visa application is approved in Canada, you will receive a letter of introduction (POE) from the Port of Entry (POE). If requested, students will be granted and a temporary residence visa from countries needing an electronic travel authorization. Your passport is linked to the eTA. Once you apply for your study permit, you must traffic the passport you used. The eTA will be valid for five years or until the expiration of your visa.

Show these together with your passport, financial proof and letter to your Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) for approval (and other documentation you've been advised to take) and then offer your Canadian study authority and authorize you to enter Canada.

Would you like to work while studying in Canada?

You can now qualify for work on and off campuses up to 20 hours, during the university semesters or full-time, without the need for work permits in breaks such as winter and summer holidays, if you wish to get some part-time work to help support yourself while studying in Canada.

For qualifying you should:

  • Have the valid study authorization to be the fulltime student.
  • Must be enrolled at any specified post-secondary college or in the Québec, the secondary vocational course. Study in a school, diploma, or degree that takes a minimum period of six months in a university, technical, or professional training program.

You need to have A Canada Social Insurance Number (SIN) for working in Canada or receiving government benefits and the other services.

Depending on the length of the planned course of training and the country of citizenship the conditions for a research license differ. If the course of study, for example, is less than six months, the documents necessary to allow one to study in Canada are largely related to demonstrating the course length. Similarly, people with country passports that do not need visitor visas to Canada also require fewer or different documents to support their studies in Canada.
