How Canada Express Entry Works?

Are you planning to move to Canada on a permanent basis? Don’t have a clear idea about the Canada Express Entry? Don’t worry anymore. We are here to help you.

Through the Express Entry migration system, families and individuals all over the world can move to Canada within a few months. The Canada Express Entry was first implemented in 2015 and is now the most popular driver of skilled workforce immigration to Canada.

Under the Canada Express Entry draw 2019, total numbers of permanent residents were admitted via Express entry Canada over the upcoming years that is set increase.

What do you mean by Canada Express Entry?

The Canada Express Entry is the application management tool for managing and processing various applications that are received from the IRCC i.e., the Immigration, the Refugees, and the Citizenship Canada (IRCC) via three Federal Foreign Workers Emergency immigration programs.

The Express Entry Canada is the competitive immigration system that classifies each other as the candidates are eligible for the status of permanent residents of Canada and invite the best-ranking candidate to apply. Candidates are classified on the basis of age, education, language skills, work experience as well as other factors.

Under this Express Entry system, various families and individuals planning to settle within Canada could become the new residents in a few months.

Working of Express Entry Canada

1) Determine the Eligibility

The potential applicants must be eligible in any one of the three below mentioned immigration programs.

  • The FSWC i.e., the Federal Skilled Worker Class;
  • The CEC i.e., the Canadian Experience Class; or
  • The FSTC i.e., the Federal Skilled Trades Class.

A section of PNPs i.e., the Provincial Nominees programs, are in alignment with the Express Entry. However, in order to enter the Express Entry pool, candidates must still be eligible under a single federal program.

Although each Exprés Entry-aligned program's eligibility requirements are different, all applicants need at least a year of skilled work and a certain level of language test competence in either English or French. Besides, Canada screens for criminal history as well as medical problems from the express entry candidates, which could render a single person unacceptable.

2) Creating the Profile for Express Entry

An express entry profile must be submitted to the candidate pool by qualifying individuals. Expression of Interest acts in the Express Entry profile. Eligible contestants would be ranked against all other candidates throughout the pool immediately, depending on the patterns.

The Express Entry score depends on the CRS system i.e., the Comprehensive Ranking System with a score of 1200. By taking all the steps for improving the CRS score, candidates can improve their rank. The higher the CRS score of a candidate, the higher the probability of an ITA i.e., the Invitation to Apply.

In the Canada Express Entry draw 2019, a CRS score has been used as the cut-off point. It aims to project the likelihood of economic success within Canada for the candidate. It includes different candidates based on their careers, education, language abilities, and the other factors if they have already obtained a qualification proposal or the provincial nomination of Canada.

If the candidate has a valid job offer from the Canadian employer or receives a provincial nomination, he or she may earn extra points.

3) Creation of bank profile

The Canada Bank is the free public resources used in helping Canadian employers to identify and also select the workers with their necessary skills. The candidates can then apply those without any job offer or the provincial nomination. This was compulsory. However, since June 2017, it was made voluntary.

4) Receive the ITA i.e., the Invitation to Apply

The Express Entry is carried out at frequent intervals by the IRCC i.e., the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. Candidates beyond a specific ranking are invited to apply for the permanent residence in Canada Express Entry draw. Whenever a candidate isn't invited to submit a new profile, the candidate's profile might expire after twelve months. Also, you can get to know about the Canada Express Entry latest draw.

5) Improve the CRS score

Applicants not yet selected can improve their Express Entry Profile as well as start scoring in the pool. You can do that by providing information that is new and updated. The various examples include: increasing the language scores, evaluation of the educational credentials, added work experience, or receiving any qualified job opportunities or the provincial nominations.

6) Submission of the application for the permanent residence in Canada

You would be provided 60 days for the submission of the entire application for the permanent residency in Canada once you receive the ITA i.e. an Invitation to Apply. You should provide personal information as well as supporting documentation along with the application. The application is electronically submitted.

You need to wait for the final decision to be made after you have applied. In six months or even less, 80% of all the Express Entry applications will be processed. You will be authorized to deploy your status as the permanent resident in Canada if your request is being approved.

Important things required to create the Profile

You need three primary documents to submit for the Express Entry profile. Collecting such three documents must be your first step if you are interested in the specific entry program:

  • The Language Test the candidates for the Express Entry must be proficient in French and English. For the submission of your profile, you need official test results from an authorized language test. There are three Express Entry programs with minimum required scores.
  • I can take the IELTS test or the CELPIP exam if you like to show that your skills are in English. You can either answer the TCF or the TEF examination if you are looking to demonstrate your knowledge of French.

1)  The ECA i.e., the Educational Credential Assessment

The ECA is a standard Canadian assessment of non-Canadian education. In the case of education, however, CEC and FSTC applicants should also complete the ECA report as education is a vital component of a CRS score. In particular, the Federal Skilled Working Class is only obligatory for educational activities.

2)  Passport

To submit the Express Entry Profiles, you need to have a valid passport, and these ID documents can be accepted in infrequent circumstances where passports are not possible. You can also create the Express Entry Profiles when you hold these documents.

3)  Apply with your common-law partner or your spouse

You might want to compare all the credentials in advance when you apply with the spouse or the common-law partner. One person should be included in Express Entry profiles as the leading individual, and a vast majority of the CRS score would be based on credentials.

How many marks you require for the immigration to Canada

This topic can be answered in two different parts. Those include: before entering in Express Entry pool or once came in a pool

  •    Before entering in Express Entry pool

The FSWC, FSTC, and CEC are three Canadian immigration programs through which you can get an explicit entry immigration candidate in Canada.

The FSTC is intended for qualified traders with recent experience in a designated job, and the CEC is intended for people with contemporary Canadian skills. None of the FSTC nor the CEC require that candidates meet a requirement for points that qualify to submit a profile.

On the other side of a coin, the FSWC is open for people from all over the world those who meet a minimum eligibility requirement.

  •   Once in the Express Entry pool

Candidates receive a CRS score in the express entry pool regardless of the program under which they are eligible. This results in a ranking of an individual applicant in the Express Entry pool. This score is the main factor in determining which candidates to apply for permanent residence when IRCC conducts an express entry draw. CRS cut-offs for FSWC and CEC applicants were previously 413 points lower, with sometimes even fewer cut-offs for FSTC applicants.

However, the CRS cut-off limits are not pre-fixed, and the threshold may be changed for various Express entry drawings. There is, ultimately, no number of points that you need to immigrate to Canada via Express Entry. However, previous draws indicate which candidates are most likely to be invited, based on the CRS score. I hope this helps you in understanding everything about the Express Entry Canada.
